Estimates suggest approximately 25% of primary care patients drink at unhealthy levels, and screening and brief intervention can assist these patients with reducing their alcohol intake. But, how does your busy practice implement brief intervention? This module will describe methods for implementing brief intervention and discuss ways to engage patients in decreasing their alcohol intake.

  • Discuss the four-step process for a brief negotiated interview.
  • Discuss methods for implementing brief intervention into practice workflow.
