ICWB MOUD – Outpatient Buprenorpine (temp title)

Module Materials

What is diabetes distress and what do primary care practices need to know?

LC: The above intro question is an example of what has been used elsewhere. We’ll change it to whatever you want. Also, I named the module with what was on outline. I’ll change it once you decide on the final one.

Module will review MOUD including best practices for treatment initiation with a partial agonist in the outpatient settings.  Discussion will include moa, risks/benefits, effectiveness, and limitations of Buprenorphine treatment as well as a review of medications to support withdrawal symptoms with targeted prescribing.

Learning Objectives

After completing this module, the learner will be able to:

  1. Briefly review the screening, evaluation, and diagnosis of OUD.
  2. Discuss the pros and cons of various evidence based treatments with a focus on outpatient buprenorphine prescribing and the indications for different induction dosings.
  3. Improve patient centered care with understanding and use of supportive language, practices, and supportive medications.
  4. Review updates to Colorado law that are pertinent to MOUD and best practices.
