This module will define the key terms for VBPs and provide practical application methods for primary care practices. We’ll discuss accountable care organizations, independent physician associations, understanding payer contracts, and identifying metrics and key performance indicators. (KPIs)

  • Define accountable care organizations and independent physician associations. 
  • Understand key business practices, including payer contracts, patient attribution, and claim denials, and how they relate to a practice’s success in VBPs. 
  • Identify the metrics and KPIs your practice is currently measuring. 
  • Describe how to best reduce patient utilization of resources.
